Standard Time is comprised of Birmingham-based musicians consisting of trumpet, guitar, bass and vocals. Standard Time performs music by popular composers such as Duke Ellington, The Gershwins, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hart, and performers like Harry Connick Jr., Louis Armstrong, Billy Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Nat “King” Cole, and others. Standard Time also ventures into bebop and “modern” composers like Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, and more. Standard Time has been a staple in Birmingham area going on 30-years, where the strive to keep the sounds of traditional jazz alive.
