Gary Wheat is one of the most in demand players in Alabama today and a mainstay of the Birmingham music scene since his first gig with Robert Moore and the Wildcats at 22nd Street Jazz Cafe in 1998. From his work with Motown groups the Temptations and O'Jays, years of club dates and festivals, a recent performance with Father John Misty, to his unwavering and ubiquitous presence on the Alabama Jazz Scene, Wheat has always striven to perfect his art and elevate jazz music wherever he plays.
